Over the past year new technology has enabled professional photo labs to print on sheets of metal. The metal prints are vibrant, durable, scratch resistant and can be easily cleaned. It’s a beautiful and unique way to display photography without having to frame and mount behind glass. Like canvas prints you also have the added benefit of a finished piece of art for your wall that’s all-photo, without a mat.
The following is a sample of a metal print with black flush mount metal frame. The photograph was taken by an amazing surf photographer named Clark Little. Be sure to check out his other wave and water photography at http://www.clarklittlephotography.com or take a trip down to his gallery in Laguna Beach.

Metal can be printed with three different finishes to match your viewing environment and preference. In the following photo of my daughter Grace, the top image is sheer, where the texture of the metal reads through the image. The middle image is a high gloss and the bottom image is a matte finish. Like un-coated glass, the high gloss is highly reflective.

This image of Kora is sheer and shows the detail of the metal surface through the image.

A few months ago I designed Jo Anna and Todd’s wedding album and we opted to have a metal cover. The album was made by GraphiStudio. Unlike the metal prints I make the album cover is printed on 1/8 inch metal.
