My Kind of Wedding
Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Jeremy and Jennifer’s 2nd wedding. They were first married in Taiwan but wanted to have a celebration for their California family and friends. I was introduced to the couple by my friend Chef Josh Jackson. Josh also helped line up the location, an urban art space that doubles as a car wash during the week. Yes a car wash. The space was/is very raw, so they brought in wedding coordinator Emily Kelly to transform the space into a hip Venice Beach carnival. Vintage arcade games, cotton candy, a wall of sweets, typewriter and photo stations and couches to lounge on .
For those of you who don’t know Venice, it’s got it’s own vibe. It’s a bit beachy (but not like other beach communities), it’s hip and arty with a bit of granola and some gansta vibe to top it off. It made for a great location to get some original wedding portraits. The wedding party was great to work with. Everyone was having fun and the enthusiasm resulted in unique and fun wedding portraits.
